FROM PUERTO ESCONDIDO AIRPORT
1.) Most expensive option: Taxis available in the airport, although they are pricy.
2.) Recommended option: Take a taxi on the highway. Leave the airport, walk along the road past the entrance until you reach the main highway (a 3-5 minute walk). There will be taxis waiting there that will take you to Mazunte for about 2/3 of the cost of the taxis inside the airport. Find another traveler on your walk who is going to Mazunte and split the cost!
3.) Most economical option: Take a taxi or shared taxi on the highway outside the airport and tell them to drop you off at the main highway intersection in front of the Chedraui supermarket. Buses and passenger vans to Pochutla pass every 15 minutes, and you can ask the driver to drop you off at the Oxxo in San Antonio. From there you can take a shared van (pasajera) to Mazunte, which is another 15 minutes away. This is, without a doubt, the most economical option, but it requires more time and transfers.

Every day of the week but Sunday, AND before 5pm, we have a worker on site to accommodate this service. Please coordinate with host.
No. At Casa La Vista we use room-temperature, unheated water as part of our commitment to responsible water use. Mazunte faces a serious water shortage, and not heating it helps us conserve both water and energy. In the coast's warm climate the water feels fresh and pleasant, and it encourages shorter showers. Thank you for helping us protect this beautiful paradise!
No. Casa La Vista was designed to make the most of the abundant natural ocean breeze: its open spaces and a special thermal roof help keep the house cool and well ventilated. We also installed high-powered, energy-efficient fans in the suites and common areas. It is a comfortable, responsible way to cool off, in harmony with the surroundings.

Yes! You will more than likely see an abundance of marine life, including dolphins, turtles, string rays, birds, and between November to March, quite possibly humpback whales and maybe even Orcas! Of course nothing is guaranteed, but it wouldn’t be a recommended tour unless it was probable. Let the host of Casa La Vista know to arrange the tour with the best captain in the area.
There are multiple places to rent on Calle Rinconcito and Calle Principal in Mazunte centro.
For an additional charge of $60 pesos per kilogram, water permitting.
